The project contributes to the decrease of the HIV infection rate in Cabo Delgado Province by mobilizing individuals and communities to get free voluntary counseling and HIV-testing (using index case family approach) followed by early initiation of ART and adherence among the newly enrolled patients. The project identifies people living with HIV in the community through home-based counseling and testing and ensures that all who tested positive start treatment and adhere to it for Total Control of the Epidemic and prevention of new infections. The method is aligned with the 90-90-90 approach. 3,636 people tested HIV positive and were referred for treatment in 2018.
