The Teacher Training program is Humana People to People India's contribution to improving training of teachers. It has been implemented in 5 government teacher training colleges of Bihar. The program is based on modern methods which aim at engaging the students to become the masters of their own learning, and to revise the role of a teacher from someone who imparts learning on children, to someone who allies with the children and encourages them to become active learners.
The student teachers are also challenged to understand their role as positive change makers in society. 2 441 student teachers received
pre-service training across the five teacher training colleges in Bihar in 2018. The college witnessed an influx of 750 new student teachers who got enrolled in the college and the graduation of 826 student teachers who successfully completed their two year training.
