The TCE project, which started in October 2018, aims at increasing access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment and care services for the Guinea-Bissau Armed Forces. The purpose is to reduce the number of new HIV infections and other sexually transmitted infections among members of the GBAF, their families, and the civilian communities served by the military health system. Without knowing their HIV status, HIV+ military personnel may engage in risky behaviour that could compromise the health of their families, community members, and themselves.

The project aims at providing HIV testing to 3,000 individuals and link 150 who test HIV positive to treatment.
